- Description
- STONE WALL MOUNTED WITH FIVE PLAQUES. TWO LEFTHAND PLAQUES AND TWO RIGHTHAND PLAQUES HAVE NAMES AND ON THE MIDDLE PLAQUE IS THE INSCRIPTION. THIS MEMORIAL REPLACES AN EARLIER ONE THAT WAS ALL STONE. IT WAS A WALL OF WW1 NAMES WITH A SLOPING BASE ALONG THE BOTTOM THAT WAS INSCRIBED WITH WW2 NAMES AND A SMALL PLINTHS ON EACH SIDE TOPPED BY AN INSCRIBED TABLET OF WW1 NAMES. LOST MEMORIAL WALL HAD A LATIN CROSS CARVED IN A CENTRAL PANEL BETWEEN COLUMNS OF WW1 NAMES.
