Description
Five panels of paper framed in brass and glazed , the names written in black in alphabetical order with a decorative initial letter at the commencement of each alphabetic section . The centre panel and two adjacent hinged panels form a triptych for the WW1 names , the two outer panels for WW2 are in a fixed position and have been added at a later date . At the centre top are the Arms of the Borough of Colchester in brass low relief , and below that the WW1 dedication in cast brass . On each side above the WW2 panels is a cast bronze circular wreath with the WW2 dates within the wreath. The WW2 dedication is written above each WW2 panel in gold .
