- Description
- Varnished wooden board with a raised central section carrying the title and a painted laurel wreath with the British Legion badge at its centre. The dedication is below the wreath, with the Names in two columns below, between hanging shrouds. The plaque and its similar companion WW1 plaque (WMR 2948) were originally mounted as separate items, but are now displayed linked by a panel between their top sections bearing the dedication 'Their Name Liveth For Evermore', and by a shelf running the length of the linked plaques. The "Exhortation" (They shall grow not old...) is inscribed on a brushed steel plaque in the centre of a panel below the shelf. The inscriptions are painted in gold. Plaques commemorating past Officers of the Legion are to be found around the plaques.
