Current location
Plaque was erected when the hall was part of the Queen Elizabeth Grammer School. When the Grammer School was moved to new premises in Whetstone Bridge Road
the plaque was left behind
in what is now known as Hexham Middle School.

- Description
- Brass Plaque with an additional strip added on the bottom border. The whole plaque is mounted on a black marble pattress. The individual dates of the years from 1914 to 1919 along the top are in Gothic script, three of each on either side of the school crest and motto. The names are written as a continuous script with a dot between each name using black sans serif lettering.

- Newcastle Weekly Chronicle reported the unveiling on 28/7/1923
- Alan Grint has researched the names on the Hexham memorials in his book The Faith and Fire Within, 2006, Ergo Press ISBN 0955275814
- On 31/7/1998, the Hexham Courant carried a feature about the unveiling of the memorial 75 years ago
- The Alnwick and County Gazette and Guardian reports the unveiling on 25/7/1923 of a memorial in Hexham Grammar School, by Col. E.P.A. Riddell, C.M.G. It was the gift of Col. L.C. Lockhart (Chairman of Governors) and his brother, H.F. Lockhart, and records 128 names of former pupils and masters who fell.
