- THIS REREDOS WAS ERECTED BY ENOS CHARNOCK/ SCHOOL MASTER ORGANIST AND CHOIRMASTER 1878:1911./ TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND FOR THE BEAUTIFYING OF THIS SANCTUARY/ AND IN MEMORY OF HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN/ DINAH ELIZABETH CHARNOCK SCHOOLMISTRESS 1878:1903/ DIED NOVEMBER 2ND 1914 AGED 64 YEARS/ HENRY MONCRIEF CHARNOCK DIED MARCH 24TH 1900 AGED 23 YEARS/ ELSIE LINSAY CHARNOCK DIED MARCH 7TH 1903 AGED 19 YEARS/ AND THE BOYS UNDER HIS CARE WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914:1918/ OVER SEVENTY OF WHOM JOINED H.M. FORCES FOR THE LOVE OF THEIR/ GOD AND COUNTRY. OF THESE EIGHTEEN MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE/ (NAMES)
