Description
CRYPT OF THE LADY CHAPEL RESTORED. ALTAR PIECE ADDED WITH ITS REREDOS. The reredos is in the form of a triptych with two plain arcades and a central panel lettered underneath. The central panel contains three figures – a Roman soldier on the left (a portrait of Basil Webb himself) with St Michael in the centre, and St Ethelbert on the right (holding a model of Hereford Cathedral).

IN MEMORY OF BASIL WEBB, SON OF HARRY WEBB, BART. OF HOLME LACY WHO DIED IN WW1 (WORDING UNKNOWN). 'Gloria in Excelsis Deo et in Terra Pax – Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace'.
