- STAINED GLASS WINDOW DEPICTING THE TREE OF LIFE WITH NUMEROUS SAINTS AND IMAGES. DEDICATORY TABLET SET WITHIN A CARVED WOODEN FRAME IS PLACED ON THE NORTH WALL OF THE NAVE. TOP: MONOGRAM OF THE NAME OF JESUS BRANCHES OF THE TREE: THE SAINTS AND MARTYRS WHO DIED FOR GOD AND CHRIST. THEY ARE ST MARTIN SYMBOLISING THE ALLIES, ST GEORGE, ST OSWALD, ST EDMUND, ST JOHN THE BAPTIST, ST FELICITAS SYMBOLISING THOSE WHO DIED THROUGH WRONGS WORSE THAN DEATH IN WAR OR WHO HAD SUFFERED THE LOSS OF LOVED ONES, ST DOROTHEA, THE MAID MARTYR SYMBOLISING THOSE GIRLS WHO ENDURED DEATH, TORTURE OR BEREAVEMENT, AND ST PANCRATIUS SYBOLISING THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES. BACKGROUND: VIEWS DEPICT THE PASSION AND THE DEATH AND BURIAL OF JESUS CHRIST BASE OF LIGHTS: ANGELS CARRY SCROLLS INSCRIBED WITH THE WORDS SPOKEN BY GOD TO ST JOHN THE DIVINE AS RECORDED IN THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS.
