Description
ILLUMINATED, FRAMED AND GLAZED ROLL OF HONOUR. HAND CALLIGRAPHY. ORIGINALLY HAD PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE MEN ON THE ROLL OF HONOUR PLACED BESIDE IT. THESE ARE NOW LOST FLAGS OF THE UK AND DOMINIONS AT TOP OF ROLL WITH ROYAL COAT OF ARMS SET UNDER PLAIN CROSS. ARMS OF ALLIES FRAME SIDES OF ROLL. FOUR PAINTED ROUNDELS IN EACH CORNER WITH SCENES ILLUSTRATING WOMEN AT HOME, ARMY, NAVY AND AIR FORCE.

THE MEMORIALS WERE DAMAGED BY WATER AND TAKEN DOWN AND PLACED IN THE STORE. THEY WERE SUBSEQUENTLY LOST. This roll of honour was originally recorded in November 1998 as being lost. Originally there was a memorial with photographs and a Roll of Honour.
