Description
Oblong mottled brown and cream marble tablet, with plain raised outer border and incised and painted lettering. The recessed inner panel has a coloured mosaic surround, and a relief-carved policeman's helmet at top centre between two coloured mosaic floral panels.

TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN UNDYING MEMORY OF THE MEMBERS/ OF THE SHEFFIELD CITY POLICE FORCE AND FIRE BRIGADE WHO GAVE THEIR/ LIVES WHILST SERVING WITH HIS MAJESTY'S FORCES DURING THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919/ (Names)/ "WHEN DUTY CALLS, WHERE'ER SHE POINTS THE WAY/ THE SONS OF HONOUR HASTEN AND OBEY"/ THIS TABLET WAS ERECTED BY THEIR COMRADES
