Description
An ornately carved, roughly shield-shaped, wooden plaque within which is a laurel wreath bearing the dates of the war, and a Latin motto. A painted Christ on the cross, with INRI above, is at its centre, with the names, carved and gilded, radiating down from each side of the cross. The finial is an elevated host above a chalice, against the background of a sunburst. A dedication in Latin falls from each side into the centre of the cross. Kneeling angels, facing away, adorn the sides of the plaque, beneath which is hung a brass plaque with the dedication.
