- CARVED BOARD WITH GLASS DOOR OPENING TO REVEAL A CENTRAL DISPLAY AREA, INSCRIPTION AT THE BASE. VERY ORNATE DECORATIVE GOTHIC CARVING IN MEDIAEVAL STYLE ON THE FRAME ITSELF AND ON THE GLASS DOOR

- TO THE GLORY OF GOD/AND IN MEMORY OF/WILLIAM EASTWOOD ROE WHO FELL FIGHTING FOR/HIS KING AND COUNTRY IN GALLIPOLI ON AUGUST 8TH 1915./ HE SERVED THE ALTAR OF THIS CHURCH AND THE MEMORIAL/BOARD THEREON AFFIXED WAS THE GIFT OF THE WORK OF HIS/HANDS. INTENDED TO COMMEMORATE HIS BRETHREN OF THE/CHURCH OF ENGLAND MEN'S SOCIETY, ASLEEP IN CHRIST,/IT AND THIS TABLET NOW ALSO COMMEMORATE. HIM, WHO/WAS DUTIFUL IN LIFE AS IN DEATH.
