TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ RODNEY GRANSMORE/ CAPTAIN 3RD BATT MIDDLESEX REGIMENT/ WHO FELL IN ACTION WHILE LEADING HIS COMPANY/ AT THE ASSAULT ON THE HOHENZOLLERN REDOUBT/ AT THE BATTLE OF LOOS, FRANCE, IN THE GREAT WAR/ SEPT. 28TH 1915, AGED 25 YEARS./ THE CLOCK WAS PLACED IN THE TOWER/ OF THIS CHURCH BY HIS PARENTS, BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
