Description

Engraved brass plaque attached to a wall mounted dark coloured backboard. Edges slightly rebated on plaque leaving protruding squared corners. Inscription and names infilled with black paint.

Inscription

IHS / To the Glory of God / and in Honour of the Men of Washfield / who served in the Great War 1914 - 1918. / and in loving memory of those / who laid down their lives for King & Country / in defence of Righteousness & Freedom. / (4 NAMES) / and of the following who died on Home Service. / (2 NAMES) / " Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay / down his life for his friends."
