Description
Two-stepped base surmounted by short broad pillar and capstone with cornicing. Originally surmounted by a four windowed lantern to light the high street. However the lantern was destroyed when the memorial was knocked down by a tank in 1943. Inscription carved on the sides of the pillar.

2011: Lamp was restored. 2010: War Memorials Trust grant requested by Hindon War Memorial Committee for refurbishment; Application approved. 1943: The memorial knocked and the lantern demolished. The memorial was moved to the church but the lantern was not replaced.
