- 1974: DUE TO THE RAPID EXPANSION IN THE AREA AND THE OPENING OF THE FRIMLEY PARK HOSPITAL, THE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL CLOSED AND WAS BOARDED UP. 1975: PUBLIC PRESSURE TO PRESERVE THE BUILDING LED TO THE CREATION OF THE FARNBOROUGH AND COVE WAR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TRUST 1976: BUILDING WAS PURCHASED AND CONVERTED INTO A RESIDENTIAL HOME WHICH OPENED IN 1984 AND WAS RENAMED DEVEREUX HOUSE
