Description
STONE CALVARY WITH PITCHED ROOF AND FIGURE OF CHRIST ON CROSS. CROSS SURMOUNTS TAPERING OCTAGONAL STONE COLUMN. COLUMN STANDS ON TOP OF SQUARE STONE BASE WHICH IS SET INTO WALL OF CHURCHYARD. CARVED LETTERING ON THREE SIDES OF BASE. TWO STEPS UP TO BASE.

TO THE MEN OF WILLERSEY WHO DIED IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919 WHOSE NAMES ARE HERE RECORD-ED. THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED BY THEIR FELLOW PARISHIONERS A.D. 1920/ EXCEPT A GRAIN OF WHEAT FALL INTO THE EARTH AND DIE IT BIDETH BY ITSELF ALONG BUT IF IT DIE IT BEARETH MUCH FRUIT/ 1914-1919/ (NAMES)/ TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN OF WILLERSEY WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR 1939-1945/ (NAMES)
