Description

BASE SURMOUNTED BY TALL STONE BLOCK STRUCTURE. LARGE RECTANGULAR BRONZE RELIEF PLACED ABOVE THE BASE ON ONE SIDE OF THE MEMORIAL BETWEEN TWO IONIC PILASTERS. TEAK DOOR PLACED AT THE BASE BELOW THE RELIEF WHICH IS THE ENTRANCE TO THE ROOM OF REMEMBRANCE WITHA VAULTED CEILING. STONE LECTERN PLACED WITHIN THIS ROOM USED TO HOLD THE BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE. BEHIND THE MEMORIAL IS A CURVED STONE WALL WITH INSCRIPTION ON IT. RELIEF DEPICTS SEMI-NUDE WARRIOR LIGHTLY RESTING ON HIS UNSHEATHED SWORD WITH A CROSS BEHIND HIM REPRESENTING THE ONE HE GAINED AS HIS REWARD FOR THE GREATEST OF ALL SELF SACRIFICES. ABOVE THE LECTERN HANGS AN EVERBURNING LAMP REPRESENTING UNDYING MEMORY.
