Description

THREE STEPPED BASE SURMOUNTED BY CORNISH GRANITE PEDESTAL WITH FIGURES ON IT AND THE OBELISK. TWO SHIPS PROWS PROJECT FROM THE PEDESTAL ON THE CENTRE PLINTH ARE TWO SOLDIERS, ONE OF WHOM STANDS AS HE PROTECTS HIS WOUNDED COMRADE. ON THE PROW OF THE SHIPS STAND SMALL BRONZE FIGURES REPRESENTING THE ROYAL NAVY AND THE RAF. THE WHOLE IS CROWNED BY A BRONZE FIGURE OF PEACE AND AT HER FEET IS A BRONZE LAUREL WREATH
