AT LEAST FOUR OF THE STATUES IN THE 12 NICHES FLANKING THE DOOR WERE OFFERED AS A THANKSGIVING FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF SOLDIERS FROM OVERSEAS WHO WERE STATIONED IN GRANTHAM. FIGURES ARE OF THE VIRGIN MARY, ST WULFRAM, ST JOHN THE BAPTIST AND ST MICHAEL
