- IN THE CENTRE OF THE AREA SET ASIDE FOR THE MEMORIAL IS A THREE-STEPPED BASE SURMOUNTED BY A TAPERING PEDESTAL AND A FIGURE OF CHRIST WITH OUT STRETCHED ARMS. DIRECTLY BEHIND IT IS A STEPPED WALL WITH INSCRIPTION AND NAMES ON IT AND TO THE RIGHT OF THIS WALL IS A SMALLER ONE FOR WW2. ALL NAMES ON CAST IRON PLAQUES. ADDITIONAL STONES OF REMEMBRANCE PLACED ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT HAND SIDES OF THE LOW BOUNDARY WALL WHICH ENCLOSES THE AREA WITH INSCRIPTION ON THEM. WREATH IN RELIEF IN THE UPPER CENTRE OF THE WALL, CROSS IN RELIEF AT THE TOP OF THE SIDES OF THE PEDESTAL

- 2012: Since the theft in 2002 the Memorial has been protected by fencing. The area is locked, and entry cannot be freely made. 2002: ATTEMPTS MADE TO REMOVE BRASS NAME PLAQUES ON THE MEMORIAL. MORE GRAFFITTI ON THE MEMORIAL EVERY AUTUMN THE BASE OF THE STATUE IS RE-PAINTED TO COVER GRAFFITI
