- Central figure of an angel holding a torch flanked by two children looking forward into a world of enduring peace. The girl on the left holds a wreath while the boy on the right holds a (?) flute. The figures are set on a stone plinth with a surrounding paved area and a wall.

- FRONT: STRIVE FOR/ ENDURING PEACE/ 1914-1918 1939-1945/ TO THE MEMORY OF/ THE MEN OF/ MANCHESTER POST OFFICE/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR THEIR COUNTRY REAR: POST OFFICE PEACE MEMORIAL/ IN MEMORY OF COLLEAGUES WHO FELL DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR WAS UNVEILED/ ON 17 MARCH 1929 BY THE/ REVEREND DOCTOR F F NORWOOD OF THE CITY TEMPLE/ IT REMAINED INSIDE THE ORIGINAL SPRING GARDENS/ POST OFFICE BUILDING UNTIL THE 1960S, THEN/ WAS TRANSFERRED TO PARCEL POST WHERE IT STOOD/ UNTIL BEING MOVED TO THIS SITE IN 1995./ IT WAS REDEDICATED ON 17 APRIL 1997 BY THE RIGHT REVEREND/ CHRISTOPHER MAYFIELD/BISHOP OF MANCHESTER.
