MOBBS IS ALSO COMMEMORATED BY AN ANNUAL RUGBY MATCH, THE MOBBS MEMORIAL MATCH, WHICH HAS BEEN PLAYED BETWEEN THE EAST MIDLANDS AND THE BARBARIANS (BINGLEY) EVERY YEAR SINCE 1921. The last game was played in 2011. BEFORE THE MATCH THERE IS A SHORT CEREMONY AND A WREATH IN ONE OF THE TEAMS' COLOURS IS LAID AT another memorial to him (a cenotaph type structure) at Franklin's gardens which is at the north end of the Barbarians Pitch. The match has continued since 2012, but now the British Army play Bedford Blues or Northampton Saints in alternate years.
