- Description
- Two-stepped square base surmounted by a square sectioned plinth, square sectioned pillar with flared base & square capital stone. The four side faces of the capital are decorated with a foliate design in relief, incorporating a raised square boss on each face centre. Above the capital, standing on a rock-like, square based plinth is a winged & robed female figure, symbolic of peace after victory, head bowed & leaning slightly forwards. Wreath or garland in left hand, held across front of her body, right hand raised & pointing to the sky. Incised inscriptions & names on pillar, plinth & steps all in black lettering. The whole memorial is enclosed by a vertical sphere-head railed metal fence, which in turn, stands within a walled & railed corner plot of land adjacent to a School entrance gate.
