Description
A large sandstone ashlar pillar with stepped top, slightly resembling a cenotaph but without any representation of a tomb. The 6 o'clock face has a carved wreath at the head, a projecting shelf with cornice, and an egg and dart frieze above the inscription in raised capital block lettering. The two sides have projecting faces and all four sides bear stone tablets with the inscriptions and names in incised upright capital Roman lettering. The pillar rests on a two stepped stone base on a raised triangular platform with stone faced walls and copings and a stepped access at the 6 o'clock face. Two rectangular stone vases, each with a wreath in relief, are placed on the stepped base.
