- Birmingham Daily Gazette, 5/8/1920, page 3, reported the unveiling: "POLICE WAR MEMORIAL. AN UNVEILING CEREMONY AT SHREWSBURY. A memorial tablet to officers and men of Shropshire County Constabulary who fell in the Great War was unveiled at headquarters, Shrewsbury, yesterday by Archdeacon Maude, who was supported by Lord Harleck Sir Offley Wakeman, and Major Bocke, chief constable, The names inscribed included that of the late chief constable. Captain G. L.
