Description

HAVELOCK STANDS WITH HIS LEFT HAND IS ON HIS SWORD AND RIGHT HAND PARTIALLY INSERTED INTO HIS BELT. HE WEARS A CLOAK ACROSS HIS SHOULDERS WHICH IS CAUGHT BACK OVER HIS RIGHT ARM.

Notes

Major General Havelock died of dysentry on 24th November 1857. There is a statue of general Havelock on Building Hill, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. His ancestral home is believed to be Ford Hall in the west of the city.
