Description
Light oak stained and polished reredos capped by gilded fretwork band, runs across the east end of the church, returning along the north and south walls. Crucifix placed in the central section. Central panel flanked by timber flaming torches. 14 coats of arms carved at the top of the panelling on the wall around the reredos with named battlefield inscribed below each of them. On the north side, the inscription and names of the dead painted in gold on three vertical polished boards, forming part of the panelling. On the south side, incorporated into the two end panels, a chamfered frame with gilt paterae surrounds a recessed aumbry of similar panelling. The base of which forms projecting shelf which has a moulded lower edge and diagonal corners. A concave mid shelf with a tabernacle/box. The front carved design of the box includes a central halo'd Lamb of God supporting a pennant with a cross of St George.

The reredos frieze shields with names of battlefields: Mons, Arras, Le Cateau, Messines-Armentieres, Neuve-Chappelle -Artois, Cambrai, Jutland, Amiens, Vimy-Byng, Chateau-Thierry, Zeebrugge-Ostend, Ypres, Passchendaele-Flanders, Loos.
