The Battle of Britain

Groups and Schools

A visit to one of our five branches will help your group discover how war shapes lives. IWM offers a range of options for schools, colleges, youth groups and adult group visitors.

Groups

Adult or youth groups of ten or more will receive a discount on the admission price at Churchill War Rooms, HMS Belfast and IWM Duxford. At IWM North, where general admission is free, you will qualify for a discounted rate for special ticketed exhibitions.

You may need to book in advance. Check Visitor Information for the branch you plan to visit to find out more about booking. See the What’s On pages to find out about exhibitions and events to ensure you get the most from your visit.

Schools and Colleges

Our learning programme explores the course, causes and consequences of conflict from the First World War to the present day.

Whether coming for a self-directed visit or choosing one of our learning sessions, all school visits must be booked in advance. For more information about general and school group visits, please visit the Groups and Schools page for your chosen branch:

Learning Resources

The first of our new First World War online learning resources, focusing on Recruitment and Conscription, is available now.  In the coming months, more resources in the series will be released for you to use in your classroom.

Our existing range of free resources to enrich your learning experience are also available. They include teaching activities and source material from IWM Collections. These can be used on a visit to one of our branches or in the classroom.

IWM also has a wide range of learning resources for all ages available from the Online Shop, including books and education packs.
