Volunteering with IWM London, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast
Our volunteers donate time in various roles across the London Branches: in conservation and collections support, events support, object handling, membership advocacy, welcome, and administrative support. They also serve as remote field workers. The volunteer programme is open to anyone aged 18 years and above, although there are now a number of weekend volunteering roles within our programme, there are currently no regular evening roles available.
Current roles available:
The Imperial War Museums are looking to expand our team of long term volunteers to help with our welcome at the Churchill War Rooms. Visitor Experience Volunteers provide an extra level of service to our visitors providing additional way-finding and historical information about this extraordinary site.
Developed in conjunction with our Conservation Team this is an exciting opportunity to help us preserve HMSBelfast for future generations.
We hold regular recruitment selection days. To register your place at a session please download an application and return the completed form by email to the Volunteer Programme Office at VolunteerLondon@iwm.org.uk indicating which role you are applying for.

Thank you for this latest newsletter. I always find them very interesting as they are packed with information across the board. Thanks also for organising the volunteers day at the Royal Naval College, as you reported with pics in last week's edition. It was a smashing tour - I met some new people over my lovely lunch. The maritime museum was fascinating as was their shop where I bought a couple of Christmas presents for my great-nephews.

I can't thank you enough for the incredible opportunity to work at the Register over the past couple of months. I've enjoyed every minute of it, and have learnt so much. You have all been so kind and welcoming, and have truly made it an unforgettable experience. I felt rather lost last night, knowing that I wouldn't be coming into London again on Monday!
