Volunteering with IWM London, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast
Our volunteer programme is open to anyone aged 18 years and above. Section requirements vary as projects begin or complete, but openings can include:
- Collections support
- Friends desk operations
- Learning support
- Warship conservation
Although there are now a number of weekend volunteering roles within our programme, there are currently no evening roles available.
Additionally, we involve adult student (18+) volunteers with shorter-term placements, but these placements are limited and vary from year to year according to projects and budgets available.
Recruitment News
Our last ‘Volunteer Welcome Days’ in May 2013 saw us screening 27 potential long term volunteers for projects across our three London Branches, so we are unlikely to be running further recruitment screening sessions now until at least September or October 2013. Teams that may be recruiting at this stage could include the:
- Friends Desk Team, IWM London
- Interaction Volunteers team, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast
- Warship Conservation Volunteers team, HMS Belfast
Adult students seeking short-term volunteer placements should note that we will have no new capacity until the end of March 2014. The deadline for applications for any additional placements that may emerge during April to September 2014 and beyond is 24 January 2014.
