Volunteering with IWM Duxford
Volunteers contribute to the work of IWM Duxford in lots of different ways. Voluntary roles include:
- Aircraft conservation
- Tour guiding
- Front of house roles such as the Friends of Duxford fast track admissions desk
- Military vehicle conservation
- Volunteering for the Duxford Radio Society on radio conservation and explaining radio communication to the public
Some of the opportunities are with the Duxford Aviation Society, which is a separate charity based here at the museum.
For a full and up-to-date list of what is available please contact the Volunteer Co-ordinator, Nicola Hughes, on 01223 499357 or at nhughes@iwm.org.uk.
Who can get involved?
Volunteering at IWM Duxford is open to anyone aged 18 or over. For most of the roles no previous experience is necessary.
How much time would I be expected to give?
Volunteers are asked to do a minimum of 12 working visits each year but most people do more.
