IWM Duxford Outdoor Events and Team Building

Whether you are planning a team building session or staff family day, media launch or product demonstration, birthday party or other special occasion;  IWM Duxford has the space and experience to meet your needs.

Our 300-acre site combines the historic airfield with modern visitor facilities, providing the perfect setting for your event. All delegates will have full entry to IWM Duxford's buildings and exhibits, including our authentic Second World War hangars and the iconic American Air Museum.

Team Building and Family Days

We specialise in organising team building and family events. As well as simply enjoying all that the museum has to offer, choose from a range of indoor and outdoor activities tailored to your requirements.

Indoor accommodation and catering can be provided in the AirSpace Conference Centre or we are happy to provide a private marquee to your specification.

Outdoor Activities

• Tank rides: experience the thrill of a tank ride in a genuine 432 armoured personnel carrier round our very own tank arena.
• Pleasure flights and flying experiences: take to the skies in a Tiger Moth or Dragon Rapide. Ideal for team building or an extra-special treat, flying experiences in a range of vintage aircraft are offered by our on-site partner, Classic Wings. Classic Wings can also arrange hovercraft rides, crazy driving and many other spine-tingling activities. Indoor Activities

• Talks, workshops and kids’ activities: bespoke activities delivered by our dedicated Learning Department. Activities can be tailored for any age group.
• Private guided museum tours: helping to bring the IWM Collections to life, our official tour operator David Lee is a respected aviation historian. To book, please call David on 01440 707610 or email davidwlee@aviationhistorian.co.uk.
• IWM Duxford treasure hunts: exploring the IWM Collections and requiring various skills such as observation, negotiation, logical and deductive reasoning, treasure hunts are a great team building activity. These can be organised within one exhibition or across the whole museum site.
• IWM Duxford flight simulator: experience the rush of a dogfight over the white cliffs of Dover. Filmed in real time with IWM Duxford-based Spitfires and a Messerschmitt Bf109, this motion simulator moves from the perspective of the Bf109 as it makes a lightening raid on the British coastline.
