HMS Belfast Commercial Filming and Photography
HMS Belfast is the is the only surviving example of the great fleets of big gun armoured warships built for the Royal Navy in the first half of the twentieth century. She served with distinction in both the Second World War and the Korean War.
Moored on the River Thames, HMS Belfast enjoys an idyllic position between London Bridge and Tower Bridge making her an ideal location for commercial filming and photography.
Crews can explore all nine decks of HMS Belfast and film in a variety of historic spaces, from the Arctic Mess Deck where sailors ate and slept to the Operations Room, the nerve centre of the whole ship. Meanwhile, the Fo’c’sle, the deck at the very front of the ship, looks out to London Bridge while the Quarterdeck has views of both Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.
We strongly recommend that crews visit HMS Belfast for a recce prior to filming. All filming on board takes place out of public opening hours, before 10.00am and after 6.00pm, and is subject to terms and conditions.
To arrange a recce or discuss your requirements in more detail please contact Nina Smetek on 020 7091 3069 or hmsbfilming@iwm.org.uk.
