THE ROYAL NAVY DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR: OPERATION OVERLORD (THE NORMANDY LANDINGS), JUNE 1944Survivors being helped on board HMS BEAGLE. They are from two American landing ship infantry, which were torpedoed during a German E-Boat attack. HMS BEAGLE drove off the attackers and helped rescue the survivors from the LSIs.
