    Pilot Officer Dennis Briggs of No 209 Squadron in the cockpit of his Catalina. On 26 May 1941 Briggs spotted the German battleship BISMARCK 700 miles west of Brest, and other aircraft maintained contact until units of the Royal Navy could intervene.
