Object description

image: a black line drawing isolated in the centre of an oversize page. The drawing depicts a male figure lying unconscious on the ground with his wrists bound around the neck of a uniformed woman. She straddles him, leaning forward with her palms on the ground. A cloud of smoke and flames rises from her back.

This drawing is part of a series produced by the artist following the discovery of a book called 'First Aid To The Injured' and the artist's subsequent research at the Imperial War Museum. Through a process of re-drawing the artist manipulates and combines these instructive illustrations to explore traces of the surreal in modern mechanised conflict.
