Aspects of enlistment and training with Royal Navy in GB, 1942: selection process; reserved occupation in aircraft industry; basic training at HMS King Alfred, Skegness; selection for radar training on Isle of Man; pattern of radar training; drafting to Devonport. Recollections of operations as radar operator aboard HMS Bulolo in GB coastal waters, Mediterranean and off Normandy, 1942-1945: drafting to ship on River Clyde; character of ship; radar personnel on board; voyage from GB to Mediterranean, late 1942; attack on Oran including bombing by German aircraft.
