Object description

whole: the three images occupy the majority. The title and text are separate and positioned in the centre left, in white, held within a blue inset. All set against a white background. image: three photographs of a British RAF Fairey Swordfish. In the upper image, the aircraft dives; in the centre image, the aircraft releases a torpedo over the sea; in the lower image, the torpedo hits the water as the aircraft flies past. text: TORPEAMENTO AÉREO PELA MARINHA REAL. [Air torpedoes for the Royal Navy. This photograph shows the Swordfish of Naval Aviation rapidly diving to hit its target. The pilot intends being almost on the surface of the water before releasing the torpedo, so the aircraft can straighten up as it releases the torpedo… even as it furiously beats the waters as it attains its objective. These planes caused major destruction when they attacked the Italian forces in Taranto.]
