The flags of the Allied nations are placed at the top of each column (including the flags of Great Britain, China, Portugal, Greece, Serbia, Belgium, Italy, Montenegro, Cuba, Brazil and Japan) with the French Tricolore and the American 'Stars and Stripes' in the centre. A shield featuring an American eagle emblem and a shield featuring a French cockerel are also placed at the top of the columns.
