This damaged teapot was used during the Second World War by Miss E McIntyre and five others in her dormitory at Liebenau civilian internment camp, Germany. The pot was repaired by an internee using wire due to the unavailablity of glue. Miss McIntyre, who held dual British and Dutch citizenship, was living in Holland at the outbreak of the war. On 19 December 1940 she was interned, initially at Schoorl in Holland (19 December 1940 -25 January 1941), then at Liebenau (26 January 1941 -6 June 1945).

History note

Used by donor while interned.
