History note

This revolver incorporates M. Kaufmann's Patents 3313 0f 1881 (the compound barrel latch) and 4302 0f 1882 ( a simplified trigger action). Webley's first revolver machine made on the interchangeable principle. There appears to be no correlation between the Kaufmann number and the serial number on Kaufmann revolvers.
