Les personnes mentionnées ci-dessous, condamnées par le tribunal de guerre à peine de mort, ont été fusillées ce jour à la citadelle, à
savoir:
1. le marchand de vins en gros Camille Jacquet,
2. le sous-lieutenant Ernest Deconninck,
3. le commerçant Georges Maertens,
4. l'ouvrier Silvère Verhulst.
Ils ont été condamnés:
a) pour avoir caché l'aviateur anglais descendu près de Lille le 11 mars 1915 et l'avoir aidé ensuite à loigner de Lille, de façon qu'il a
pu rejoindre l'armée ennemie;
b) pour avoir donné aidé et assistance aux soldats français qui, après avoir abandonné leur uniforme, ont séjourné dans Lille et les
environs. Les coupables ont également favorisé la fuite à l'étranger de ces soldats qui, d'après la proclamation du Général Commandant
d'Armée du 7.I.15 doivent être considérés comme espions.
Le présent jugement est porté à la connaissance du public pour qu'il lui serve d'avertissement.

hiding the English airman who came down near Lille on 11 March 1915 and then helping him get away from Lille, so that he was able to
rejoin the enemy army; b) for giving aid and assistance to French soldiers who, after abandoning their uniforms, remained in Lille and the
surrounding area. The guilty parties also helped these soldiers to escape abroad, who, according to the proclamation by the General Army
Commander of 7.I.15, must be regarded as spies.This verdict is brought to the knowledge of the public to serve as a warning. Lille, 22
