Object description

image: the figures of four stylised signallers laying a wire across a heavily battle-scarred landscape. Clouds of dark smoke billow from the ground not far away. There is a village on the horizon in the distance, and another in the valley beyond the muddy and heavily shell-holed terrain. A dead horse lies on the ground to the left and one of the men clambers through barbed wire to the right.

History note

Ministry of Information commission (Scheme 2). Commission administration transferred to Imperial War Museum
