Object description

image: The shattered remains of a gothic cathedral are at the centre of the composition. The entire upper part of the building has been shot away leaving only a ground floor shell. Facing the viewer is the main arched doorway and accompanying portals. To the left, the still intact wall surrounds a broken stained glass window. To the right, in the distance, is the violet silhouette of a wrecked building. The foreground is heaped with rubble.
