(Mrs) Miria Woodbine Pomare OBE. Organiser-Hon. Secretary of 70 Maori Women's Committees formed all over New Zealand, Maori Women's Committee in Karotonga, Cook Is. With Executive Committee in Wellington from which all parcels & goods were despatched to the various fronts & hospitals. Held knitting classes to teach Maori women to knit & supplied wool to Maori schoolgirls. Organised & helped many street sales in aid of Red Cross work organised Maori section of big Baby Competition in aid of Red Cross & Red Jersey. Helped st sales in aid of Soldiers' Comforts. Member of Soldiers Club Committee Wellington
