Object description

First parade of the whole 2nd Warsaw Armoured Division in Loreto, Italy in honour of Field Marshal Sir Harold Alexander, who paid farewell call to the 2nd Polish Corps. The Division was upgraded on 7th June 1945 from a brigade level. Names on the Sherman tanks, which belong to the 1st Squadron of the Carpathian Lancers Regiment - Chocim, Parkany, Orsza, Wiedeń - are references to victorious battles of the Polish Armed Forces in Polish history. A silhouette of the Loreto Cathedral is visible in the background.
