The Duke of Kent talks to ground staff carrying out checks on a Hurricane II of No 601 'County of London' Squadron, during a visit to Northolt on 19 March 1941. Cleaning brush and rag in hand, a fitter explains the various maintenance routines that have to be carried out on the aircraft's 1,280hp Merlin XX engine.
He also visited the 303 Polish Fighter Squadron Squadron on the same day.
