An Iraqi casualty with a chest wound receives attention in the Emergency Department of the Camp Bastion Field Hospital, Helmand, Afghanistan. The casualty had been evacuated by helicopter from the Sangin area during Operation SILVER, a multi-national offensive to clear the Taliban from the town of Sangin. Once stabilized, the casualty was taken to theatre for surgery and subsesquent recovery in the Intensive Treatment Unit. Arrangements would then be made for the patient to be evacuated away from theatre for any after care treatment using the Clinical Care Air Support Team.
