Private Jean James puts some clothes she has been ironing into a drying cupboard during one of the Domestic Science Courses given to members of the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) by the London District of the Army Education Scheme. The course was run in the Domestic Science block of London County Council's Avondale Park School in Notting Hill Gate.
