Object description

Air Chief Commandant Lady Welsh, Director of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force sitting with Air Marshal Sir Guy Garrod, Deputy Air Commander-in-Chief, Mediterranean Allied Air Forces and Commander-in-Chief, RAF Mediterranean and Middle East, at his desk in MAAF Headquarters at Caserta, Italy, at the start of her tour of the WAAF in Garrod's Command. Standing on the right and addressing them both is Squadron Officer M S Philip, WAAF Advisory Officer at MAAF, while Flight Officer M Tempest-Holmes, Lady Welsh's Personal Assistant, stands on the left.
