The Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, accompanied by Air Chief Marshal Sir Arthur Tedder, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Royal Air Force Middle East Command (to the left of Churchill) and Air Vice-Marshal Arthur "Mary" Coningham, Air Officer Commanding Air Headquarters, Western Desert, (far right), talks with the commanding officer of an RAF squadron, shortly after arriving at AHQ, Ma'aten Bagush, for lunch, during his visit to Egypt. A Lockheed Hudson of No. 267 Squadron RAF, which flew Churchill and his party on his tour of the Western Desert, is parked behind them.
